Membership: Vickie Christian
Sounds like Jan McNiel and Vickie Christian will not be wearing their high heels for awhile. Using a walker or crutches seems to be a better fit for the time being. We might be slowed down but we are by no means down for the count. Personally, I still very mad about the whole ordeal! Good grief, we do not have time for this! Be that what it may, this too shall pass, painfully, but it will pass.
Thank you for the cards and phone calls of encouragement and horror stories of broken ankles and various other broken bones!!! We are still alive to talk about it and some of us have the plates, screws and scars that make great conversation starters!
If anyone wants to visit you are welcome. My house is the one with the 30 yard ramp!
Didn’t we have a blast month!? Throw in some 38 rowdy quilters with 3 brave guests with lots of birthday girls and we are headed for a grand time!! I heard someone tried to give Lynda Richardson a dollar for her birthday dance! The scavenger hunt was fun and even had a team with an almost perfect score!!! I’m ready for another one.
Special thank you goes to Gloria Harbin, Shirley Ringleb and to the mystery ladies for their donated zippers. I apologize; your smiling faces blew past me while I was distracted. Please let me know who you are.
Thanks again for the compliments on the membership table. I would love to display a spring inspired quilt for April and May. Please email me.VRONC2@cox.net if you have one you would like to share for the evening. Remember your hat for May and would love to hear a story if you have one. If not, why not give your hat a possible history. Who knows, maybe it survived a hurricane; tornado attended some great event or made by a creative milliner who designed for well known ladies. I can hardly wait to hear what you come up with!!!!!! I better get started (it’s not I will be doing much of anything else).
We have five birthdays for the month of April:
Cathy Messner Jan McNeil Lyndell Simmon Sharon Murphy Patty Butcher
Membership: Your dues are due! Dues remain at $12.00 this year. We currently have 39 paid members. Please make your check payable to Barbara Tyler. Please be sure to include your membership form with all pertinent information filled out. This year we are also asking for you to note your occupation, cell phone number, and include whether you are interested in helping to piece or quilt tops or apply binding on charity quilts. You may mail your dues to Barb at: 80 10th Street, Shalimar, Florida 32579. If you are handing your dues to Barb at the meeting, please put both your check and membership form in an envelope to make tracking your payment easier. This is VERY important if you should happen to be paying by cash. We are only human and want to avoid any mistakes and this would definitely be a big help. Checks are preferred, but if you pay in cash, please make sure there is a way to know whom the cash is from. In order for your information to be included in the new roster books, your dues will need to be paid by the February meeting. If your dues are not paid by then, you will not be included in the new roster books or on the March newsletter list.
Dues are $12.00 per year. We do have a "Snowbird Special" for those that can join us for only part of the year. Membership for the Snowbirds is $6.00.
